Best Jalapeno Poppers Ever!
Ingredients:
12 oz cream cheese (softened)
1 cup Tabanero Original Hot Sauce
8 oz shredded sharp cheddar cheese
2 tablespoons bacon bits
12 ounces jalapeno peppers (seeded & halved)
1 cup milk
1 cup flour
1 cup dry bread crumbs
2 quarts oil for frying
Directions:
In a bowl, mix the cream cheese, cheddar cheese, Tabanero Original Hot sauce and bacon bits. Spoon the mixture into the jalapeno pepper halves.
Put the milk and flour into two separate bowls small bowls. Dip the stuffed jalapenos first into the milk then into the flour, making sure they are well coated with each. Allow the coated jalapenos to dry for about 10 minutes.
Dip the jalapenos into the milk again and then roll them through the breadcrumbs. Allow them to dry. Make sure the entire surface is coated, you can do this step twice if needed.
In a medium skillet, heat the oil to 365 degrees F. Deep fry the coated jalapenos 2 to 3 min each, until golden brown. Remove and let drain on a paper towel.
As always top it off with a little more Tabanero when serving for an extra kick. Garnish with lemon and serve hot or cold, they are delicious either way.
