Spicy Cowboy Burger
INGREDIENTS
- 1 lb ground beef, divided into two ½ lb hamburger patties
- 2 large hamburger buns
- 2 fresh jalapeños, sliced into thin julienne strips
- French’s crispy fried onions
- 2-4 cheddar cheese slices
- 4 slices of bacon
- 12 oz bottle Tabañero Sriracha Honey
- 1 tbsp butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
INSTRUCTIONS
- Cook 4 slices of bacon until crispy. Once cooked, lay bacon on a paper towel and set aside for later.
- Slice your onions and jalapeños into thin julienne slices.
- In a plastic bag, add your flour and season with salt and pepper. Mix to combine.
- Add your sliced onion and jalapeños to the bag, seal, and shake well until the veggies are coated with the flour mixture. Set aside for later.
- In a small saucepan, add your vegetable oil. Turn to high heat. Use a thermometer to get the oil to 350-375 degrees.
- While the oil is heating, cook your burger to your liking, and don’t forget to melt your cheese on top!
- Once the oil has reached temperature, remove the onion and jalapeño from the bag, and shake off excess flour. Add the onion and jalapeño carefully in the hot oil. Cook for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown.
- Remove fried onion and jalapeño pieces, and set on a paper towel in a single layer.
- Butter and toast your bun. Add your cheeseburger and top with bacon.
- Place your fried veggies in a small bowl, cover with Tabañero Sriracha Honey, and toss to coat. Add veggies to the top of the burger.
- Serve hot!
