Finished with a generous spread and drizzle of Tabañero Truffle Jalapeño Avocado Sauce. This sandwich is perfectly balanced!

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ribeye, sirloin, or flank steak

  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 2 ciabatta rolls or toasted hoagie rolls

  • 4 slices provolone or white cheddar cheese

  • 1/2 cup caramelized onions

  • 1/2 cup sautéed mushrooms, optional

  • 2 handfuls arugula

  • 1/2 avocado, sliced, optional

  • 1/4–1/2 cup Tabañero Truffle Jalapeño Avocado Sauce, divided

  • Parmesan shavings, for garnish

  • Chopped chives, for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Season the Steak: Generously season the steak on both sides with salt and freshly ground black pepper.

  2. Cook the Steak: Heat the olive oil in a cast-iron skillet over high heat. Cook the steak for 3–5 minutes per side, depending on thickness and desired doneness. Remove from the pan and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing thinly against the grain.

  3. Toast the Rolls: While the steak rests, lightly toast the ciabatta or hoagie rolls until golden and crisp.

  4. Add the Sauce: Spread a generous layer of Tabañero Truffle Jalapeño Avocado Sauce onto both sides of each toasted roll.

  5. Build the Sandwich: Layer the bottom half of each roll with arugula, sliced steak, caramelized onions, sautéed mushrooms, if using, and provolone or white cheddar cheese. Add sliced avocado, if desired.

  6. Melt the Cheese: Place the assembled sandwiches under the broiler for 1–2 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

  7. Finish & Serve: Drizzle with additional Tabañero Truffle Jalapeño Avocado Sauce, garnish with fresh cracked black pepper, Parmesan shavings, and chopped chives, then serve immediately.

Tip: For an even richer sandwich, toss the warm sliced steak with 2 tablespoons of Tabañero Truffle Jalapeño Avocado Sauce before assembling. It coats every bite with bold, creamy truffle-jalapeño flavor without needing any additional condiments!
