Spicy Creole Sauce

Creole Sauce can be used as a topping for enchiladas, eggs, pizzas, or an amazing addition to a shrimp and grits recipe.

Servings: 6     Prep Time: 20 minutes     Cook Time: 60 minutes


Ingredients

  • 2 Cups diced white onion

  • 2 Cups diced green pepper

  • ¼ Cup garlic chopped

  • ½ pound bacon chopped

  • 1 Cup diced celery

  • 1 jalepeno diced

  • 6 Cups plum tomatoes , broken up into pieces

  • 3 Tbls blackening seasoning

  • 1 Cup water

  • 1 Cup Tabanero Hot Sauce


Directions

  1. In a medium sized stock pot on medium heat add bacon and sauté until crispy

  2. Add onion, bell pepper, jalepeno , garlic , and celery

  3. Cook until soft on medium heat

  4. Add blackening seasoning and toast spices for 3 minutes

  5. Add plum tomatoes and simmer for 5 minutes

  6. Add water and Tabanero and simmer for 45 minutes on low heat.
